What does an IP lookup tell me?

Country and city. Sometimes ISP. Usually not the person.
IP geolocation maps an IP address to an approximate physical location using public databases. The data comes from a mix of ISP registrations, BGP routing, and active probing. It's usually accurate to the city level for stationary connections.
Mobile carriers, VPN users, satellite ISPs, and large corporate gateways frequently produce wrong results — the IP shows up at the carrier's NOC rather than the actual user's location. Treat this as a hint, not a fact. Bulk mode is for ops folks pulling lots of IPs out of access logs at once — paste up to 100, get a results table with all the same risk signals, and export as CSV or JSON.
